Ten of thousands of teachers are now seeking funding through the website DonorsChoose to build their classroom libraries, improve seating options, provide hands-on learning, and increase students’ access to technology. However, funding isn’t the only necessity for school technology. New hardware and software must also be compatible with districts’ IT systems.
DonorsChoose is attempting to help teachers meet these requirements by allowing districts to submit their guidelines for technology purchases at www.donorschoose.org/districttools. When teachers in those districts apply for funding for a technology project, those guidelines will appear.
